Audrey
Comedy
When a member of a family falls off a roof and into a coma, the lives of others in the family are greatly improved.
Audrey teeters a fine line between dark humour and bad taste. The movie is original but deranged, and the premise comes off as mean spirited rather than funny. The inclusion of a character in a wheelchair is something audiences should see more of, but she still plays second-fiddle, picking up what her sister leaves behind. The plot is filled with scenes that lend the story a credibility problem - a mother substituting for her daughter, lots of sex toys, religious porn productions and such. The tone is one of a variety show rather than a cohesive narrative. Doesn't manage to raise the roof.
