Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

Bridget Jones hasn't changed, but her circumstances have. She tries navigating dating apps, but that's not where she finds the most interesting men.

Perhaps because the original book's author is on the writing team, the movie reprises all that we love about this character; her doubts, imperfections, and above all, her likeable authenticity. She's still living close to her adage, "It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces." Who would have the plot play out any other way? The action is loaded with tributes and reminders of the past while looking boldly to the future. Mad about Mrs Darcy.
