A pharmaceuticals company CEO is abducted and tortured by a pair of conspiracy theorists who believe she's an alien.

"Bugonia" is a piece of satirical storytelling that's frightening for its potential realism. As the line between science and fiction blurs and anger is poured onto the scenario, it all becomes a little more disturbingly credible. Maybe we don't know who or what to believe - something the writers take advantage of in delivering a full spectrum of horrors to the screen. The costumes and settings play right into our preconceptions of how certain people might live, look, and behave. The whole setup channels the horrific possibilities by a director known for his signature unrelenting intensity. You don't choose your nightmares... they choose you.
