Civil War

A group of journalists road trip to Washington DC in an attempt to interview and photograph the president before he's deposed.

Civil War is a visually interesting production that showcases the very worst of humanity. Embarking on a potentially deadly journey, the rag-tag team of journalists show the complexities of how people either crumble or fortify in times of strife. The film is stunningly shot and directed and the use of silence in the score is a precise and effective way to build tension. Unfortunately, the ambiguous plot, sparse dialogue and some out-of-character decisions cause friction in the viewing experience. What kind of American are you?
