Compartment No. 6

Laura, an archaeology student from Finland, and Ljoha, a miner working in Murmansk, share a train compartment on a long train journey to the Arctic Circle.

In a movie composed of closely observed moments between two people with little in common, "Compartment 6" is refined filmmaking. It's a study of relationships, not only between strangers whose fates are entwined for a couple of days, but between every character and encounter. We're drawn in close by the director's casual precision, affirming that we each can find something we need in the other. A thoughtful acknowledgement that the destination is less important than the journey. All aboard.
