Cyrano

Certain that he is unworthy of the love of Roxanne, Cyrano de Bergerac helps another to woo her in this musical retelling of the classic tale.

The production design is stunning and the cast is wildly talented, but sadly other elements of "Cyrano" don't quite slip into place. The ballads, for example, serve to slow the action. On the choreography front, the prancing sheep in the opening scenes are delightful, but the subsequent swirling and twirling dance scenes are out of step with the storyline. Most disconcerting though, is the lack of something special between characters. Where is the love?
