Biography Drama History

A look at the life of Enzo Ferrari, a motor racing driver and founder of the Ferrari car brand.

"Ferrari" is a long-winded biopic with far too much drama and a plot focused on all the wrong things. Ferrari's rivalry with Maserati, precision engineering and their approach to racing are mere afterthoughts as we're instead forced to endure long stretches of family in-fighting and spectacle. The film's pace is laborious, with the director choosing to linger on faces and scenery for extended periods. The cast are capable, but the dialogue is sparse and they're forced to work with a lot of empty space. Engine failure.
