As a horror story, "Men" is the product of excellent filmmaking. All elements - timing, sound, tension - build to give the audience an edge-of-the-seat experience. Balancing the blood and horror, extraordinary cinematography is used to capture stunning detail, particularly in scenes depicting the countryside. The story itself is thought-provoking and there will be varying theories. The movie's title suggests one path for interpretation; another could be to consider the effects of complex trauma. In either case, the battle is gruesome. Aww, man...
