The Alto Knights

Drawn from Mafia history, the story of notorious crime bosses in New York City: Frank Costello, who retired in 1957 after surviving an assassination attempt, and Vito Genovese, who ordered the hit.

Having played a mobster in several films, one might think the lead actor has been typecast in "The Alto Knights". The leading man is brilliant playing two gang bosses, each at odds with the other, in roles requiring uncompromising and abrasive characters. While times of gangster rule were not exactly the good old days, there's a sense of nostalgia on the screen, as we've seen similar narratives told and retold often. The cinematic styling of the city, along with its apartments and hideouts, is exceptional. Be careful who you call your friends.
