The Bride!

In Chicago in the 1930s, Frank, the monster, doesn't want to be alone anymore and exhumes a murdered woman's body, which Dr. Euphronious reanimates in her lab.

The director enjoys free rein to invent a genre-defying work, and she gifts audiences with an uncommonly entertaining movie. The tale is astounding as we're taken on an incredible journey of monsters and mayhem; this is a mash, and marvellously so. Put away any thoughts of the source material, as this production is a creation unto itself, with lots of playful allusions to other versions. There's no faulting the cast as they fashion peculiar characters with human traits, particularly the leads, one seeking a soulmate and the other possessed with female rage. Something old, something older.
