While rehearsing for a Broadway production of The Cherry Orchard, it becomes clear that the leading lady is struggling with dementia.

The play being prepared for a run contains central themes of loss and change, which are mirrored in the film itself. The lead performances are superb - one portraying a woman losing her memory, the other trying to shield that decline from the world. This is a modest production about a fictional character that plays out more or less as expected; we’ve seen many roles of aging actors, and this one doesn't reveal much depth or any surprises. Empty halls.
